Transfer News: Chelsea steps up Gavi chase, Chelsea interested in signing Man City star

According to AS, Chelsea are planning to have a second round of talks with Barcelona starlet Gavi and his representatives to convince him to come to Stamford Bridge in the summer. Gavi despite wanting to play for Barcelona in the future, isn’t registered to La Liga and could be available for free in June.

Chelsea are hoping another meeting helps their cause, and as per the report, this meeting will be attended by the player’s parents as well.

 

Chelsea interested in signing Man City star

According to Fichajes, Chelsea are considering making a move for Manchester City star Julian Alvarez in the summer to reinforce their attack. Alvarez is reportedly disappointed with his game time at Manchester City and will request a transfer away from them if they don’t make him a more regular member of the squad. Chelsea are unsure about the futures of Armando Broja and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and see as an ideal candidate to replace them, states the report.

Chelsea eye Onana, Kobel and Raya as new No 1

Chelsea’s owners seem unconvinced by either Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy and are eyeing replacements, according to the Evening Standard. The Blues have contacted representatives of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and Brentford’s David Raya as they target a new No1.

According to reports in Georgia, Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is also on their radar. Not only have Chelsea been looking at potential targets, but they have paused contract negotiations with Mendy and left him on a below-market-rate deal which expires in 2025. Mendy wants to match Kepa’s £190,000-a-week wages but the club seem reluctant.

Balogun wants to be in the first-team

According to Football Insider, Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun who is currently having an excellent season out-on-loan to Reims will only return to the Emirates if the Gunners guarantee him first-team football. Balogun has scored 18 goals in the Ligue 1 this season and is attracting interest from many clubs such as AC Milan and RB Leipzig.
