Catch all the latest Chelsea headlines, including updates on kit sponsorship, Eden Hazard and Jude Bellingham in our live blog of everything going on around Stamford Bridge

The international break is back as we wait another two weeks for the next set of club fixtures that will keep everyone entertained. Chelsea head into that time off with plenty of confidence as Mauricio Pochettino managed to string together back-to-back victories in the Premier League.

The latest was a 4-1 win over Burnley as Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling all found the scoresheet to complete a fantastic turnaround at Turf Moor. With plenty of stars jetting off around the world to take part in international games for their nations, the Blues will be hopeful none will be back on the injury list.

When they return, the west London club will be hosting their rivals from the capital as they prepare to face off against Arsenal. With that said, make sure you keep the blog on lock throughout the day as we bring you all the latest Chelsea news as it breaks.

Disasi replaces Kounde in France national team

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi looks set to head away with the French national team, despite not initially receiving a call-up.

That is because Barcelona star Jules Kounde picked up an injury over the weekend and according to RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Disasi will be his replacement.

Cole Palmer can be Chelsea’s own Foden

Chelsea spent a large portion of the summer transfer window in search of a right-sided attacker who could drift centrally with a plethora of names linked to the Blues. The long list of options was headed up by Michael Olise, Mohammed Kudus, Rayan Cherki and Bradley Barcola, and despite two of those players moving in the summer, neither joined Chelsea.

Arsenal and Brighton wanted Kudus but he chose to join West Ham, while Barcola moved from Lyon to Paris Saint-Germain. Olise signing a new contract at Crystal Palace and Lyon not wanting to lose another attacker in Cherki made moves for the other two main names seem quite the challenge and with just over a week of the window left, Chelsea were running out of time.

However, in the space of just a few days, Chelsea had wrapped up the signing of a player they had tracked for months in Cole Palmer from Manchester City. Prior to the weekend victory against Burnley, Palmer had not scored a Premier League goal, with Pep Guardiola giving him limited minutes in the senior team at Man City.

That made the £42.5million fee paid seem extortionate, given that is what Tottenham paid to sign James Maddison from Leicester. But in hindsight, at 21, Palmer looks to be a highly astute signing with his main qualities epitomised in the Turf Moor thrashing. It could certainly be argued he is very similar to his former Man City team-mate Phil Foden.

Chelsea star given Ashley Cole comparison

Chelsea have been told the next Ashley Cole could already be at the club. Or at least a part of the club’s setup.

Cole was widely regarded was one of the best left-backs in world football during his time with Arsenal and Chelsea. An England regular, he had the perfect mix of defensive nous and attacking intent. While the Blues have the likes of Ben Chilwell and Ian Maatsen on the books, the comparison has been handed to a different player and it also isn’t Levi Colwill.

Gary Neville makes Chelsea top four prediction

Gary Neville has backed Chelsea to go on a winning run in the Premier League that could see them finish in the top four. Mauricio Pochettino’s side had made a slow start to the 2023/24 season but back-to-back victories heading into the October international break has seen them shoot up the table with confidence at a high.

Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling starred in the Blues’ most recent victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. Both former Manchester City stars were on the score sheet with at least one assist also picked up in the 4-1 thrashing.

The early weeks of the season likely had many Chelsea fans concerned that another season of disappointment was on the cards but two positive results in the space of week has appeared to change that perception. Given the mass squad overhaul completed in the summer, the internal goal for the season will likely be to get back in the Champions League and that is something Neville believes Chelsea could do.

Eden Hazard return message

Eden Hazard’s brother, Kylian, has encouraged the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star to hang up his boots. The 32-year-old winger has been left without a club this season after his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu was terminated despite still having a year left.
