Why Chelsea Should Take Schwarzer’s Advice To Judge Mount’s Future This Summer

Ex-goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has shared his advice concerning Mason Mount’s situation at Chelsea as the midfielder might leave his boyhood club this summer.
The contract renewal talks between Mount and Chelsea have been stalling as both parties are yet to reach a full agreement. It has been said that Mount demanded a higher wage which is above £200k and Chelsea presented a wage below which are some of the reasons why Mount might seek a new challenge at the end of the season.
Mount’s performance has drastically dropped this season and has made him fall behind the pecking order in Graham Potter’s team selection. The likes of Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, Pulisic, and Sterling have been ahead of him lately.
Mount could be available soon after his full recovery from injury and he is expected to at least fight for his place before the end of the season. The report that Chelsea is planning to make Felix’s deal permanent at the end of the season would also be key in Mount’s decision whether to stay at Chelsea or move on.
However, Mark Schwarzer on what he is going to do about Mount’s situation if he is the Chelsea chairman said “He’s such an incredible player. I certainly would not be selling him as he is such a phenomenal player.” (as gathered from Chelsea news)
Chelsea should take his advice because Mount is truly a phenomenal player as he was key to Chelsea’s success under Thomas Tuchel when they won the Champions League, Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
