What Could Happen To Chelsea’s Champions League Title Defence As Lukaku Has Rediscovered His Form.



Chelsea are returning to the Premier League action after winning the club World Cup in Abu Dhabi last weekend.

The Blues have played 25 Premier League matches this season winning 13, drawing 8 and lost 3 with 47 points, 7 points behind second-place Liverpool but six points ahead of 4th place West Ham United.

They have two important matches to play in their remaining fixtures in the month of September, the Blues will face Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League clash this weekend.

They will also play against French Ligue 1 side Lille in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League first leg in Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel won the Champions League title in his debut season as Chelsea manager, he won the trophy without a natural striker.

The Blues of recent won the FIFA Club World Cup title at Abu Dhabi, as they beat Al-Hilal in the semi final and defeated Palmeiras in the final.

What could happen to Chelsea Champions League title defence as Romelu Lukaku has rediscovered his form.

Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League title and the UEFA Super Cup title without a natural striker, and the were regarded as under dog that season.

They weren’t amongst the favourite to win the 2021 edition of the UEFA Champions League, but rather Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The Blues defy the Pundits predictions, as the beat Porto, Atletico Madrid,Real Madrid and Manchester City in the final to lift up their second Champions League title without a natural striker.

Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku to proffer solution to their striking option up front, but since the arrival of the Belgian, things haven’t been easy with him at the Bridge. He even preferred retuning to Italy as he was displeased with Tuchel system.


Prior to the FIFA Club World Cup tournament, Roman Abramovich wasn’t happy with the Belgian performance, since his big money move to Chelsea, but the Belgian rediscovered his form at the Club World Cup as he scored 2 goals for Chelsea to help them win the only trophy lacking in their trophy cabinet.

Lukaku’s positioning was excellent, his header against Palmeiras should be one of best goal of the tournament. The Blues can now challenge to retain the crowned they won in Porto back May, as the Belgian could silent his critics in this current campaign
