Chelsea are prepared to submit a lucrative proposal in exchange for the signature of Sporting midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to Bruno Andrade. Ugarte has been linked with several Premier League clubs over the last few weeks and is also believed to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who are said to have opened the bidding with an offer of around £60m. Chelsea have since been credited with a willingness to match PSG’s bid in the race to land Ugarte, who will reportedly make a final decision once all offers are in.
Gundogan urged to snub Arsenal
Former Liverpool ace Stevie Nicol has urged reported Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan to join Barcelona instead of the Gunners if he leaves Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of the season. Nicol told ESPN: “If you are going to cut your ties, then I would go somewhere else. I would either go back to Germany, to Barcelona or to a club of that ilk. “The only thing I am good with is that he’s a better player than [Granit] Xhaka. If you can replace what you have got, with better, then that’s the way forward. “That’s the reason why I think it’s a good move for Arsenal. It’s just from a Gundogan point of view, I don’t understand it.”
