Sterling, Cucurella Or Koulibaly; Who Has Been Chelsea’s Best Signing So Far?

When Roman Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea football club earlier this year due to sanctions after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there were fears as to what the future holds for the London club.
Fans and everyone connected to Chelsea were worried about the uncertainty of the club but since the Todd Boehly led consortium won the bid to purchase the club, those fears have disappeared due to the investment and eagerness of the new owners to make this great football club even greater.
The American co-owner and his new business partners have made statement signings that proves they’re here to move Chelsea forward from where Abramovich’s stopped.
The signing of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella and the imminent arrival of Wesley Fofana for a fee of about £200m including the impressive investment on young talents like Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei etc, means Chelsea will only continue to get better and win more trophies.
With the transfer window still open for a few days, Chelsea are still in the market, looking to add more quality signings that will give Thomas Tuchel all the necessary tools he needs to challenge for all the big trophies this season.
As we wait to see who the club adds to the already fantastic list of players they’ve signed this summer, we should talk a little about the performances of the new arrivals.
Four Premier League matches have been played so far this season and Chelsea sit 6th on the EPL table with 7 points after recording 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.
The performances of the three players that have featured this season as been very impressive and it shows that the club knows exactly what they’re doing.
Raheem Sterling
The decision to bring Sterling to Stamford Bridge was a very smart one. The former Manchester City forward is a proven EPL star player and has the ability to improve the blues’ attack.
So far, his performances have been brilliant. His 1 assist and 2 goals in just 4 games shows he’s settled in very nicely at the club.
Marc Cucurella
When Chelsea made Cucurella the most expensive left back in the world, many people were worried that he might not prove to be worth the amount the club paid.
But since his debut, the Spaniard has been sensational. His 2 assists in just 4 games shows Chelsea have got a very good player that perfectly fits their team.
Kalidou Koulibaly
Other than the unfortunate red card he received against Leeds United on match day 3, Koulibaly has been incredible for Chelsea.
In the 3 matches he’s played this season, the Senegalese has been a rock in defence and has found the back of the net for Chelsea already this season.
It is safe to say that, all the signings Thomas Tuchel has made have been incredible signings. For me, it is hard to decide who has been the best signing amongst them. If I had to choose compulsorily, then I’d choose Raheem Sterling.
We all know that Chelsea’s biggest problem has been creating enough chances and scoring goals.
Sterling has solved part of the problem so far as he’s contributed to more than 50% of the total goals the club has scored this season.

How Palmer and Reece James Have Complemented Each Other in Chelsea’s Lineup This Season

Reece James just returned to action for Chelsea this season after recovering from an injury that kept him on the sidelines for weeks but the synergy between the Chelsea Skipper and Cole Palmer has emerged as a pivotal factor in Chelsea’s recent impressive performance.
Their relationship on the pitch showcases a dynamic partnership that has been significantly impacting the team’s overall performance.
One key element of this collaboration is the strategic placement of Cole Palmer in the middle, operating behind the striker.
This positioning capitalizes on Palmer’s unique skill set, acknowledging that he may not possess the blistering pace or sheer physicality to excel in isolated one-on-one situations with defenders.
Instead, Palmer’s strength lies in his ability to receive the ball on the half-turn, exhibiting clever passes that ignite the team’s attacking prowess.
Palmer’s fluid style, characterized by his adept use of pockets and floating movements, creates a symbiotic relationship with Reece James.
James, a versatile right-back, benefits from Palmer’s strategic play by having the freedom to occupy the wing.
This tactical understanding not only maximizes Palmer’s strengths but also amplifies James’s impact on the game.
What becomes evident in this partnership is Palmer essentially playing as a number 10, operating in a role that aligns with his capabilities and enhances the team’s attacking dynamics.
By strategically placing Palmer in a central position, Chelsea leverages his playmaking abilities, allowing him to orchestrate the flow of the game and provide crucial link-up play between the midfield and the strikers.
The tactical harmony between Palmer and James is not just about individual brilliance but also about how their styles complement each other seamlessly.
Palmer’s intelligent movements and distribution empower James to venture forward with confidence, creating a fluid and dynamic attacking unit for Chelsea
