Southampton Football Club will welcome Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea at the Saint Mary’s Stadium today for another Premier League encounter.
Southampton who lost against Manchester United last weekend is expected to bounce back on their winning ways while Chelsea is likely to extend their winning records when they lock horns with their host today.
Chelsea’s manager, Thomas Tuchel who has been struggling to win matches this season because of some mistakes needs to correct those mistakes to perform better against Southampton and in subsequent matches, this article states the two mistakes and how he can avoid or correct them.
1. Including Kai Havertz in the starting line-up:
The manager has been making these mistakes aince the season as the German international is currently in his worst season. Havertz’s performance is awful and should be excluded from the starting lineup. The German player has recorded zero goals and assists in his last four games as a striker for the blues.
The head coach should try using Broja in the front as the primary duty of a striker is to bang goals and assists.
2. Using Reece James as a center back:
The England international is a natural wing back and not a center back but Thomas Tuchel is playing the lad out of position which is currently affecting his performance. The manager should avoid this mistake in today’s match if he wants to perform better.
Reece James is an excellent player and playing him in his natural position brings out the beast in him as he helps in assist and goal scoring as well.
Mauricio Pochettino makes two changes to his Chelsea team for today’s game at Newcastle.
Alexander Isak returns for Newcastle after injury, but there is no Sean Longstaff.
Subs: Petrovic, Colwill, Disasi, Maatsen, Caicedo, Matos, Madueke, Mudryk, Broja
Subs: Dubravka, Gillespie, Karius, Dummett, Ritchie, Diallo, Murphy, Ndiweni, Parkinson
