Premier League finally approves takeover of Chelsea

The Premier League board has approved the proposed takeover of Chelsea by the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Consortium
The league announced this in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the club will now work with the relevant Governments authorities to secure the necessary licences to complete the deal.
In the statement the league confirmed members of the Consortium as Todd Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss and Mark Walter.
Roman Abramovich’s reign as Chelsea owner has now come to an end with Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Boehly already agreeing a £4.25bn purchase of the Premier League giants.
“The Premier League Board has today approved the proposed takeover of Chelsea Football Club by the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Consortium,” A statement from the Premier League said.
However, the statement added that the takeover remains subject to the United Kingdom Government issuing the required sale licence and the satisfactory completion of the final stages of the transaction.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesperson earlier confirmed the Government had launched talks with “international partners” to help push the Chelsea sale across the line.
