Chelsea shift attention to a new defensive target after missing out on Jules Kounde.

With the departure of some first-team players, Thomas Tuchel and Todd Boehly are hoping to reinforce their team as they head into the new season.
As a result, The Blues have ensured the signings of English forward Raheem Sterling and Senegalese International Kalidou Koulibaly and are looking to do more business in the transfer market.
The West London club has been linked to a good number of players this summer one of which is French International Wesley Fofana.
According to a recent report coming from 90min, Chelsea had made Fofana their new top defensive target after missing out on Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, who opted to join Barcelona instead.
The report notes that the Blues have made progress in their pursuit of Fofana, who is open to the idea of joining the 2 times European Champions if the two sides can agree on a transfer fee this summer.
However, Leicester is demanding more than £80m for the highly rated 21-year-old, who signed a new five-year contract at the King Power Stadium back in March. Talks are ongoing as Chelsea attempt to drive that figure down.
It’s yet to be seen if Wesley Fofana can make a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
