Chelsea eye Chilwell understudy

Chelsea have been told how to complete the signing of Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa in the upcoming transfer window, with Thomas Tuchel keen to undergo a rebuild this summer. In February, football.london reported that Sosa has been watched by Blues scouts this season to monitor his progress.

Should the west Londoners look to acquire the defender’s services this summer, his £21.3million release will have to be paid, claim German outlet Bild.

Salah price tag revealed

Mohamed Salah’s potential transfer fee has been revealed, with the Egyptian reportedly open to joining another Premier League side next summer. The 29-year-old, who sees his contract at Anfield expire in 2023, is said to consider a free transfer to a rival of Liverpool’s if he doesn’t receive a ‘significantly improved’ offer from the Reds, according to The Athletic.

With just one-year left on his current deal at Anfield, Salah is currently valued at around £59.7million by CIES Football Observatory. Though, if the forward chooses to see out his deal then, of course, he’ll be available for free.

Newcastle deal for ‘next Mbappe’

Newcastle are edging closer to a deal to sign Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, according to reports. The move would represent a huge blow to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, who have all been linked with a move for the youngster.

The Gunners and the Blues have both been linked with Reims youngster Ekitike, who managed 14 goal involvements in just 24 Ligue 1 appearances. The 19-year-old’s rise to notoriety has been likened to Kylian Mbappe, with some claiming he is the “next Kylian Mbappe”.

However, it may be an uphill battle to land him, as Fabrizio Romano reports that Premier League rivals Newcastle are nearing a deal to sign the 19-year-old on a five-year deal. The fee is believed to be roughly €35million (£30million) in total, which could be a bargain if he continues to develop.

How Palmer and Reece James Have Complemented Each Other in Chelsea’s Lineup This Season

Published

By

Reece James just returned to action for Chelsea this season after recovering from an injury that kept him on the sidelines for weeks but the synergy between the Chelsea Skipper and Cole Palmer has emerged as a pivotal factor in Chelsea’s recent impressive performance.

Their relationship on the pitch showcases a dynamic partnership that has been significantly impacting the team’s overall performance.

One key element of this collaboration is the strategic placement of Cole Palmer in the middle, operating behind the striker.

This positioning capitalizes on Palmer’s unique skill set, acknowledging that he may not possess the blistering pace or sheer physicality to excel in isolated one-on-one situations with defenders.

Instead, Palmer’s strength lies in his ability to receive the ball on the half-turn, exhibiting clever passes that ignite the team’s attacking prowess.

Palmer’s fluid style, characterized by his adept use of pockets and floating movements, creates a symbiotic relationship with Reece James.

James, a versatile right-back, benefits from Palmer’s strategic play by having the freedom to occupy the wing.

This tactical understanding not only maximizes Palmer’s strengths but also amplifies James’s impact on the game.

What becomes evident in this partnership is Palmer essentially playing as a number 10, operating in a role that aligns with his capabilities and enhances the team’s attacking dynamics.

By strategically placing Palmer in a central position, Chelsea leverages his playmaking abilities, allowing him to orchestrate the flow of the game and provide crucial link-up play between the midfield and the strikers.

The tactical harmony between Palmer and James is not just about individual brilliance but also about how their styles complement each other seamlessly.

Palmer’s intelligent movements and distribution empower James to venture forward with confidence, creating a fluid and dynamic attacking unit for Chelsea
