This Saturday, Manchester United will play again when they compete against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final.

United is now on a strong run of form and will now be aiming to win their first trophy of the year this weekend.

Under manager Eddie Howe, Newcastle has made enormous strides and is now positioned to compete in their first cup final in 24 years.

The Red Devils will be hoping to pick up the victory now, when it matters the most, since they are unbeaten in their last six games in this competition.

Date, venue and kickoff time

The two sides will play in a cup match this weekend at Wembley Stadium.

The contest is scheduled to take place on Sunday evening (26th of February), at 17:30 Nigeria time.

Match preview and team news

Now on a roll, United most recently defeated Spanish powerhouse Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate in the UEFA Europa League play-off.

This weekend, the Red Devils will focus on domestic responsibilities in an effort to end their six-year trophy drought.

They defeated Nottingham Forest 5-0 on the road in their Carabao Cup quarterfinal earlier this year, but they’ll play a completely different opponent on Sunday.

This weekend, Antony and Casemiro will be welcomed back by Erik ten Hag, but there are questions about Marcus Rashford’s fitness.

Newcastle’s first cup match of the year was a matchup against Crystal Palace, which they won on penalties before defeating Bournemouth 1-0 in the subsequent round.

They defeated Leicester City 2-0 in the competition’s quarterfinals before defeating Southampton 3-1 overall in the semifinals.

The Magpies’ strong defensive play has been a major factor in their success thus far, and they will be hoping to continue that trend this weekend.

This year, Casemiro has been a rock in the United midfield and a major contributor to the team’s improved defence. The Brazilian is eager to win another trophy this weekend despite having won many throughout the course of his remarkable career.

After Guimaraes was sent-off against Southampton last month, Newcastle had gone winless in their last three games without the midfielder. The 25-year-old’s return is being anticipated by the Magpies, who are hoping he can help them win on Sunday.
